ANDERSEN Below Deck Variable Speed Compact Motor Electric Conversion Kit - 12V f/50ST Winch [RA2050214100]
Ships Direct From Manufacturer
Below Deck Variable Speed Compact Motor Electric Conversion Kit - 12V for 50ST Winch
The uncompromising ANDERSEN Variable-speed Compact Motor™ is especially developed for use as a winch motor. It is available in two versions; Below Deck, with smaller, built-in dimensions than a standard motor and Above Deck, featuring the winch mounted directly on the motor for deck or mast installation. This motor is highly efficient, with an impressive line speed and first-rate maximum load. The unit is extremely easy to install and demonstrates why ANDERSEN Products are in a class of their own.
The motor is built on an entirely new commutator principle using no carbon brushes, resulting in the virtual elimination of wear and tear. This new approach to motors also provides other advantages; including 30-50% less power consumption compared to a conventional electric motor.
Electric conversion kits are delivered mounted to a stainless steel winch/deck connection plate and have everything you need for do-it-yourself mounting including installation manual, switches and cable terminals.
Important Information
Mounting of an Above Deck Compact Motor™ winch on a vertical surface is not recommended, as it increases exposure to potential problems of excessive moisture and water ingress which could lead to damage not covered by warranty. The motor/gearbox unit of any Above Deck Compact Motor™ Electric Winch is more exposed to the elements than a below deck installation which keeps the motor unit and gearbox more protected. It is important to take reasonable precautions to protect the unit from unnecessary exposure, and carry out regular seasonal maintenance including the lubrication of the motor shaft seal. This is just good seamanship. On commercial and military vessels, it is common to see exposed equipment with electric motors and gearboxes fitted with covers when not in use or to protect them from heavy spray, etc. Equipment on yachts deserves the same proper care.
** Before ordering, please contact us to ensure your Andersen Winch is compatible with this Conversion Kit. Refer to the Winch Product Version Number when inquiring or ordering powered Conversion Kits. The production year, month and version no. [YY-MM-VER.] are stamped on the top side of the deck flange, between the mounting bolt holes. You’ll find it, when the polished winch drum is removed. **

34ST E1 Electric Full Stainless Winch - 24V
Andersen E1 Electric Winches allow you to hoist and trim sails of any size at the push of a button. They remove the requirement for physical strength, making it possible for any crew member to easily and safely control lines and sails. Perfect for enjoying sailing short-handed or with friends and family.
In addition to the host of standard features that have made Andersen self tailing winches the benchmark for quality and performance Andersen E1 Electric Winches are engineered with unsurpassed levels of functionality, monitoring and protection.
Ease of Installation
Internal contractors and controller, with no separate control box required, mean a more reliable, neater and lighter installation. Simplified electrical installation requires just the connection of positive and negative power cables to the motor terminals and the connection of the push button using the included output cable. Marine grade circuit breakers are also available for protection and isolation.
Efficient, high quality motor
At the heart of the E1 winch is a high quality European engineered and manufactured series wound motor. Carefully matched with the optimal gearbox they deliver high speed at low load for fast sheeting in, and low speed at high load for safe, fine tuning when trimming. They are available in 12 Volt and 24 Volt models providing smooth and quiet operation across a wide working load range.
Illuminated “intelligent” Push Button
E1 winches are supplied with push button with integrated LED which illuminates when power to the winch system is on. The push button incorporates a hinged safety cover to prevent inadvertent winch operation and is water resistant rated to IP67. The push button also acts with the controller to flash status codes that assist with trouble shooting in the event of overload or where other system protection intervention occurs. A cable for connection of the push button is included for convenient installation.
Unrivalled level of monitoring and protection:
- Integrated Overload Protection - The controller is pre-set to stop the winch if the Maximum Pull Load is exceeded. Operation can resume within a few seconds when the load returns below the limit
- Thermal Overload Protection – The motor is fitted with a thermal cutout that disables the motor in case of overheating; it automatically resets after the temperature returns to normal.
- Reverse Polarity Protection – An integrated 5 Amp fuse protects the motor against incorrect cable connection.
- Accidental Start Protection – Winch operation is disabled if the push button is already inadvertently pressed when the power supply is turned on at the circuit breaker or battery.
- Low Voltage Detection - Operation is disabled if the battery charge level is low, which prevents further drain on batteries and avoids triggering low-voltage reset of navigation instruments and other electronic devices.
- Continuous Run Time Limit– Operation is disabled if continuous run time exceeds 10 minutes.
Manual operation
2-speed manual operation is always available as a backup; to winch beyond the pre-set maximum pull load (but below the winch Max Working Load) or just for the experience.

Power Rib™
ANDERSEN Winches feature the Power Rib™. Unlike other winches with abrasive drum surfaces, ANDERSEN winch drums have vertical ribs running up the surface. This combined with the smooth polished stainless steel gives a maximum grip and minimum wear on ropes, reducing the replacements costs of sheets and halyards. What’s more, the Power Rib principle simply makes sailing more pleasurable. Fewer turns on the winch make tacking easier. Sheets can be gently eased out without harsh snatching and the risks of overrides and jammed sheets are significantly reduced. The grip provided by the ribs will remain the same year after year, unlike many other winches with an abrasive or sandpaper-like surface. Such surfaces have a tendency to wear down both ropes and themselves.
Power Ratio
Power Ratio is the mechanical advantage of the winch and is calculated as follows:
length of handle x gear ratio
radius of drum
The pull of the winch is based on the Power Ratio and not just on the physical size of the winch or the diameter of the drum. The Power Ratio is used to determine the load the winch may handle as follows: pull of handle (kg x Power Ratio = pull of winch (kg).
This means that by applying a load of 10kg, using a 10" standard handle, on a Power Ratio 40:1 winch, the winch can pull 400kg, assuming that the winch is 100% efficient. This is not possible in practice as the efficiency is reduced by internal mechanical friction losses.

If you take pride in having your yacht look its best, ANDERSEN's Full Stainless Self-Tailing Winch creates the dock-stopping appeal you desire. It combines all the convenience and power of ANDERSEN's self-tailing winch with a stunning all stainless steel look.
From top to bottom the drive shaft stripper arm, self-tailing jaws, drum and upper & lower trim rings are manufactured in highest quality and beautifully polished grade 316 stainless steel. The dramatic result is a highly reflective winch that becomes a highlight of the boat and a true reflection of your yachting pride. We like to say, “Full Stainless – Beyond Good Looks.”
As with all ANDERSEN Winches™, our Full Stainless Self-Tailing winch features the exclusive stainless steel Power Rib™ drum for maximum power and extended line life. This model also uses our exclusive self-tailing device that automatically accommodates a wide range of different line sizes.
Materials
Andersen winch drums are produced from grade 316L stainless steel, cold formed in stages during manufacture to further increase strength and hardness as it takes its final form. The resulting construction is lightweight, yet stiff and unyielding.
Drive shafts are in grade 329 duplex stainless steel. Pawls are cut from a cold pressed profile in grade 316 stainless steel and are virtually unbreakable.
The upper center stems are manufactured from aluminum bronze for ultimate durability. The combination of materials and design contribute to a lightweight, rigid final assembly that enhances. the mechanical efficiency of the winch. Andersen winces are of similar weight to winches with aluminum drums, but are far more durable.
Power Rib™
ANDERSEN Winches© feature the Power Rib™. Unlike other winches with abrasive drum surfaces, ANDERSEN winch drums have vertical ribs running up the surface. This combined with the smooth polished stainless steel gives a maximum grip and minimum wear on ropes, reducing the replacements costs of sheets and halyards. Features
Anderson winch drums incorporate the distinctive Power Rib which ensures a controlled grip on the line at all times, whether trimming or easing. The highly polished stainless steel surface minimizes vertical friction and allows the loaded rope turns to slide easily upward as the drum rotates, without the shuddering and excessive rope wear seen on winches that rely on a rough surface finish for grip.
Stainless steel roller bearings and ball bearings carry the highest drum loads to the center stem of the winch, minimizing efficiency losses due to friction.
The self tailing arm can be rotated through 360 degrees for optimum positioning (40ST and larger). Stainless steel self-tailing jaws adjust automatically to suit various rope sizes.
Andersen winches are designed for simple, straightforward installation and maintenance. Servicing is only required every two years or so, under normal use.

40QT Orbit Winch with Quick Trim
Ronstan’s Orbit Winches™ are the new benchmark in high performance alloy winches. With a combination of fresh design thinking and proven manufacturing expertise, Orbit Winches™ weigh significantly less and offer lower line entry heights than any other winch in their class.
Remarkably easy to service, they require no tools for disassembly or maintenance. The machined aluminium drums feature the same Power Ribs™ that many sailors will recognize from Andersen Stainless Steel Winches®, well-known for their impressive line grip, smooth control, and minimal rope wear.
Power Ribs™
The exceptional grip provided by the Power Ribs™ offers a multitude of benefits: requiring fewer wraps around the drum, reducing the load held in the self-tailer, and encouraging the line to slide easily upward on the drum to avoid riding turns. The non-abrasive drum surface extends the service life of running rigging and allows smooth and controlled easing, even under high loads.
No Tools Required
Full disassembly and reassembly can conveniently be performed without the need for any tools. To remove the drum, pull back the spring-loaded release latch, and a slight anti-clockwise rotation will allow the self-tailing arm to be lifted from the winch. From there, the drum can be removed from the winch's center stem.
When completing reassembly in reverse order, an audible click confirms positive engagement between the self-tailing arm and bayonet notches on the center stem. These notches allow the self-tailing arm to be locked in one of eight positions at rotational increments of 45 degrees.
Orbit Winches™ sizes 30QT and 40QT are equipped with the unique, patented QuickTrim™ self-tailer.
What is QuickTrim™?
QuickTrim™ allows sailors to conveniently and safely ease the line without removing the winch handle or taking the line out of the self-tailer.
A small anti-clockwise rotation of the self-tailing cover allows the self-tailer to turn beneath it like a sheave as the rope is eased, with confident grip and control assured by the drum’s smooth surface and Power Ribs™.
Letting the top cover spring back into place locks the self-tailer again to resume normal use.

Wichard Profurl C260 Headsail Reefing-Furling System [C2608]
Profurl C260 Headsail Reefing-Furling System
Especially designed for boats from 5 to 7 meters, the C260 model is a self-contained halyard furling system. Cost-effective, and easy to install on the existing forestay, the C260 does not require any maintenance.
The Self-Contained Halyard System
On light sailboats - especially fractionally rigged - it is usually difficult to obtain a tight forestay. The C260 with its self-contained halyard helps to minimize forestay sag by reducing mast compression created by a combination of loads from the halyard and sail.
Ease of Installation
The C260 does not require a specialized attachment to the forestay stem head, it is simply attached to the lower swage terminal of the forestay (eye and holes plates or turnbuckle). For boats transported and stored on a trailer, the C260 can be separated into two sections reducing the risk of damage while in transit.
Ease of Use
The self-contained halyard passes over a sheave box fitted into the top of the extrusion and returns down to a sheave and cam cleat. Once the sail is hoisted and tensioned, the remaining length of the halyard is used as a furling line.
