It must be mounted flush up against the propeller hub face on the fixed diameter of the shaft.\u003cbr\u003eIt is not necessary to remove the propeller prior to installation. The Shaft Shark is kept securely in place by the clamp action of the two allen-head bolts. It is advisable to use the supplied Vibra-Tite VC-3 or Loctite or similar on the screws\/bolts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSeparate the two halves.
